NOT the greatest of Tuesday cards but two matches have caught my eye, one from the National League North where York host Hereford and the other from the FA cup as Portsmouth travel to Loftus Road to take on Queens Park Rangers.
York City vs Hereford (KO 7.45pm)
These two strugglers meet and both will be looking for a much needed win to ease themselves away from the relegation places after what can only be described as totally underwhelming seasons so far
Certainly been no shortage of goals at Bootham Crescent for York with 10 of their last 12 matches seeing over 2.5 goals – when you look deeper , 22 of their last 26 games have seen at least 3 goals which is some going.
There’s been 21 goals scored in their last 4 games (6-1 and 3-2 wins and 3-1 and 4-1 defeats) and despite their home form being in the top 10 in the league, they conceded far too many goals (only three clubs have a worse defensively record then them)
They welcome fellow strugglers Hereford who have the worst away record in the league and who have now conceded in 12 consecutive away matches. Like York, they conceded far too many goals but they are more than capable of scoring against a leaky York defence.
Their last 7 games have seen both teams score and given both sides desperately need the points, I don’t see defences being on top here.
Plenty of goals in York’s matches and I’m taking that to continue tonight with both sides finding the net
Recommended Bet:
- Over 2.5 match goals
- 17/20 (Marathonbet) (NAP)
QPR vs Portsmouth (KO 7.45pm)
FA Cup replay from Loftus road and something that always stands out for me in QPR matches agt home is the volume of late goals (not far off as good as Newcastle for a late goal)
18 of their last 24 matches at home have seen a goal scored after 70 mins – Pompey have scored in 18 of their 20 away matches this season and also enjoy a late goal
Taking a late goal again tonight
Recommended Bet:
- Goal to be scored after 72th minute
- 5/6 (Bet365)
