THIS week the European Tour heads to the Middle East for the Qatar Open, and they play on the par 72 Doha Course which measures 7,400 yards.
Conditions this week are expected to be windy especially in the afternoon so the winner will need to play the wind well, have good course management and of course a hot putter.
The course is more of a links type course so ability to play links golf is required in what is a relatively weak field.
Three for this week
Alexander Bjork
The Swede is improving every week and is now ranked 70th in the world. He proved last summer a liking for links courses and is showing good recent form. Could be in the shake up on Sunday. A good putter
Eric Van Rooyen
Another player who showed his liking for the links course with good finishes in the Irish Open and the British Open.
Excellent course form in the first two rounds here last year before fading away at the weekend. Eric can continue the fine tradition of South Africans in this event by going close this week.
Mike Lorenzo-Vera
Lorenzo-Vera has good solid course form with two top 10 finishes in the last two years and showed he can handle windy conditions when in Sicily last year. A good putter and a sound bet this year again.
Recommended bets
- Bjork 1pt e/w 18/1 (Paddy Power)
- Van Rooyen 1pt e/w 60/1 (Paddy Power)
- Lorenzo-Vera 1pt e/w 28/1 (Paddy Power)
Good Luck
