The DP World Tour continues to get around with this week’s Hero Indian Open at the Signature Course, DLF Golf and Country Club, New Delhi, India.
The 132 field with the top 65 including ties making the cut will all be competing for a share of the $2M prize purse with the winner collecting the Hero Indian Open title and a winner’s cheque for $333,400.
After tipping last week’s DP World Tour winner in the shape of Thorbjorn Olesen to claim the Thailand Classic, let’s keep on picking winners for the rest of the year just as we have done since it all began. Olesen who was priced at 22/1 wasn’t our only success last weekend. Both the DPWT & PGA match bet Naps won yet again and Max Homa collected some Each Way money at 22/1 with his runner-up place at the Genesis Invitational.
It could have been much better but eventual winner Jon Rahm is just simply unplayable at the moment but can’t complain as Max fought him in a duel all the way to the end, especially on the final back nine but it wasn’t to be for the Californian.
The Signature Course will be playing 7,380 yards long this week, it’s a par 72 parkland layout which will test all participants. It’s going to require every tool in the bag to work perfectly with power, accuracy and touch along with a hot putter to taste success in India this weekend.
The weather is forecast to be hot and sunny throughout with breezes peaking at no more than 10mph.
This event will be screened on Sky Sports Golf with live coverage starting at 7.30 am on Thursday morning.
Remember to have any pre-tournament wagers placed before 3 am in the early hours of Thursday.
So let’s move on with this week’s Hero Indian Open betting tips as we look to double up from last weekend.

With this being a weaker field in India and with Law having tasted success having bagged the ISPS Handa Vic Open, this could be the Scotsman’s best chance yet to double up as he scoops the Hero Indian Open in the early hours of this coming Sunday morning.
Nicolai Hojgaard 14/1 EW 1-7 places Paddy Power
For my next best tip I’m going to advise Nicolai Hojgaard 14/1 EW 1-7 places Paddy Power.
The 21-year-old kid from Denmark is a class act, especially in this field and could easily power his way to a hat-trick of DWPT crowns this weekend at such a young age.
Having already bagged the Italian Open in 2021 and the Ras Al Khaimah Championship last year, I’d be very surprised if Nicolai went winless this year. In his past five events which include four this year he has finished no worse than 38th but it gets much better.
Three of those were inside the Top 10, 10th at the ISPS Handa Australian Open, 10th at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and best of all 5th at the Thailand Classic last weekend.
The other was 13th when defending his title just the other week at the Ras Al Khaimah Championship. Nicolai Hojgaard could be shining in the Indian sun this week as he turns that fine recent form into a victory when he bags the Hero Indian Open, it could be at a canter if he brings his A game, here’s hoping.
Shubhankar Sharma 28/1 EW Unibet 1-6 places
For my final outright selection, I’m going to suggest a player who’ll be playing on home soil and could make that home advantage pay off this week Shubhankar Sharma who’s available at 28/1 Unibet 1-6 places.
The 26-year-old from Jammu, India has the 18-hole Course record on this track and that could be the clue right their. This is Sharma’s home venue and he knows it like the back of his hand unlike most others arriving in India this week.
He does arrive home with form in the bag having finished 7th at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship last month and 12th at the Saudi International.
At the tail end of last year he finished 3rd at the Nedbank Golf Challenge and can back that up with a runner-up place at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in 2022.
Having already won the Maybank Championship and Joburg Open on the DP World Tour along with six other victories in his homeland on the Indian Tour, it would be silly for me to leave out Sharma this week.
He can use all that course knowledge to his advantage as he manages his way to the winner’s enclosure at DPF Golf and Country Club on Sunday morning to the delight of the Indian crowd.
It could be Sharma’s signature on the trophy as he uses his secrets to successfully negotiate his way around the Signature Course this week.
So all that’s left now is the match bet and for this week’s Nap I’m going to advise that Jeunghun Wang gets the better of Joost Luiten over 72 holes 10/11 Nap Bet365.
