1.50 – Unibet Stewards’ Sprint Handicap (5f)
No easy starting place with 17 contenders over the flying 5f. Tommy G won this in 2018 and has been in the frame either side of that success; he’s at the foot of the weights and on a workable mark.
SALUTI has thrived since Paul Midgley dropped him to this minimum trip. His Doncaster third was well-advertised by the front two since and he was a determined winner at Pontefract. He’s won from this mark and further in the past and could still have more to offer on only his third start at this distance.

2.25 – Unibet Summer Handicap (1m6f)
Opposite end of the spectrum in this race as they go 1m6f and stamina is the order of the day. Laafy is progressing now for Sir Michael Stoute and will be in warm order; he was second in the Old Newton Cup and commands respect.
Perhaps last year’s winner KING’S ADVICE is being forgotten. He was a winning machine after arriving from Germany and while he’s 0-8 since taking this, his Listed second behind subsequent Group 2 winner Red Verdon at Doncaster in June showed he can still do it. His most recent run at Newmarket is overlooked as it was on soft ground and, rated 4lb lower than last year, he might bounce back.

3.00 – Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes (Fillies’ Group 2, 1m6f)
Just the four runners here and it may be a good chance for ENBIHAAR to repeat her success of 12 months ago. She had five-lengths in hand from Manuela De Vega then and will get 3lb from that rival today on account of Ralph Beckett’s charge taking the Lancashire Oaks last month.
Cabaletta was disappointing in that race on soft ground but has bounced back since and is a danger again getting the three-year-old allowance; though both she and Snow – sister to St Leger winner Kew Gardens – have improvement to find.

3.35 – Unibet Stewards’ Cup (Heritage Handicap, 6f)
The main event of the afternoon and just the 28 runners to consider in this cavalry charge. Nahaarr is the strong favourite but a 7lb rise for his latest win coupled with the propensity for traffic worries makes him opposable.
KIMIFIVE never got a chance in this last year having run into just those traffic worries before flying home. He is on the same mark now and his recent Bunbury Cup effort at Newmarket was another tale of what might have been.
With Cieren Fallon taking 3lb off and a perfect low draw, he’s a player. David Menuisier’s team are in flying form and Atalanta’s Boy is already a dual C&D winner who comes here in winning form and looks appealing amongst those at bigger prices.

4.10 – Qatar Handicap (7f)
Society Lion is a definite player here for Sir Michael Stoute with his Doncaster second appearing to be good form, but preference is for handicap debutant COLD FRONT for the team of William Haggas and Tom Marquand; both seen to great effect here this week.
He ran into a good one at Yarmouth in June as they put clear daylight between themselves and the field and he made no mistake since at Haydock. He’s a three-year-old with plenty potential and connections will have high hopes.

4.40 – British European Breeders Fund Maiden Stakes (7f)
GOLDEN FLAME’S efforts behind Devious Company and Battleground in two earlier efforts were well showcased when that pairing finished first and second in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes here earlier in the week, and Mark Johnston’s charge looks to hold strong claims now eased back into maiden company and with Ryan Moore taking over.
Titian also boasts credentials after a good start at Newmarket that reads well and his trainer/jockey are in form too.

5.10 – LG Signature Apprentice Handicap (1m1f)
Something was surely amiss when STREAK LIGHTNING flopped at Haydock last time, as his run was harder to explain than just the soft ground. He’s previously looked very promising in winning his first two starts and he can bounce back in this apprentice contest on handicap bow for trainer Mark Johnston.
Oliver Stammers does well for the yard and takes off 5lb. Exec Chef starts life for a new trainer and rates a danger in first-time cheekpieces after some encouraging form lately.
