Sheffield United has one last, small chance to enter the battle for a new Premier League contract. But then they have to win against Fulham.
After 24 played rounds, we can conclude that there are not very positive notes around neither Sheffield United nor Fulham, who have actually been in the relegation places throughout this season.
It’s been a season lined with poor offensive, way too few games won and losses on assembly lines. Actually for both teams, but where Sheffield United is of course some kind of extreme case.
Sheffield United has so far 19 losses in 24 games, 15 goals ahead and a goal difference of -25. It may in itself seem perfectly okay, and has to do with being a perfectly fine team in the defensive.
A couple of stronger results at the end, or half-end, may be closer to the truth, making Sheffield United not the same desperate jumbo as before. Now they have only two points up to the second-jumbo West Bromwich Albion, but eight points up to Fulham and another six points up to secure ground.
It would be foolish to give up right now, but Sheffield United needs to win this game, an affordable story, if you’re ever going to dream of a new contract.
Sheffield United plays cheap
Fulham has a slightly better trend at the end and has only one loss in his last six games in the Premier League. Now just one of the games is a win, and a total of three to the number this season, but anyone who wants can undoubtedly find something positive in the better trend at the end.
Now you seem to miss forward Aleksandar Mitrovic here, while Josh Maja is on the team and is probably a better attack option. Tom Cairney can’t play either.
Sheffield United has had Sander Berge, Jack O’Connell and Jack Robinson gone for a long time, and all three are outside the team, too. John Egan is also out of play, while John Fleck has become ill and he can’t play either.
Fulham feels a little going on, but I trust Sheffield United to work like animals here. There won’t be anything free to pick up.
