If you feel the need to make major changes to your FPL side, you’ll need to move fast. This weekend brings a new deadline, 4pm on Friday ahead of the early clash between Brighton and Burnley.
Ahead of the international break, Gameweek 8 has some quite attractive fixtures for us to make the most out of. Ahead of this weekend’s 10 matches, we’ve ran through the players to target, the asset to captain and the fixtures to avoid.
We’ve selected a new-look squad in our GW8 picks, with our 15-man side set up perfectly to cash in the bench boost chip this weekend.
Don’t forget that you can get a more in-depth look at each match this weekend in our Premier League predictions.

Target
West Brom vs Tottenham
West Brom lost to Fulham last week in one of their most winnable games of the season. Their defence looks vulnerable to a Tottenham side who now have Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale getting attacking returns on top of the usual suspects.
Avoid
Man City vs Liverpool
They may be two of the Premier League’s most talented teams, but ahead of their clash at the Etihad this isn’t the time to make moves for their top stars.

Fantasy Football Transfer Tips this Week
Back the Chelsea Defence
Yes, you read that correctly. To his credit, Frank Lampard has finally got his Chelsea side moving in the right direction defensively. The Blues’ backline has a few tempting options, with Kurt Zouma (5.2million) and Reece James (5m) earning 77 points between them.
Like Lampard, we’ve turned to Edouard Mendy (5.1m) to solve our goalkeeper woes, with top quality stoppers thin on the ground this term. We’re also going with Ben Chilwell (5.9m) as our replacement for the underperforming Trent Alexander-Arnold. The former Leicester man has claimed 33 points in the last four gameweeks.
Perfect time for Palace
Last week we made the case for Nathaniel Clyne (4.5m), who got another 90 minutes under his belt for Crystal Palace in a loss to Wolves. With a favourable run ahead for the Eagles, we’re doubling up on Palace assests.
The Eagles head into December with the league’s best fixture list. Their next four are Leeds (H), Burnley (A), Newcastle (H) and West Brom (A). With Wilfried Zaha (7.4m) having one of his best seasons we’re backing him to deliver alongside Clyne this week.
Hammer Time
David Moyes’ West Ham were able to confound expectations with their form against the big sides, now the Hammers have a slightly easier time of things. Fulham, Sheffield United and Aston Villa are their next three, with the Cottagers up next.
There are plenty of West Ham options to pick from, but we’re going left-field for a player with 0.2% ownership in Said Benrahma (6m). The Brentford loanee faced Fulham in the cup earlier this season and scored twice. He’s set to make his Hammers debut this week and we’re looking to get a jump on other FPL managers by backing him early.
Who to Captain in GW8
Harry Kane
With 42 points from three away games with Tottenham this term there’s no reason to overlook Harry Kane for this weekend. The forward has scored five times in his last four Premier League games and given the state of West Brom he should significantly add to that tally.
