It may be Halloween on Saturday but the FPL scares all came last weekend, as some of the top talents blanked again. With Salah falling short, City looking shaky and Chelsea’s newcomers falling flat it’s a tough time for FPL managers.
You only have until Friday to settle on your Gameweek 7 squad and ahead of that deadline we’ve ran through the players to buy, the fixtures to target and the teams to avoid.
Don’t forget that you can get a more in-depth look at each match this weekend in our Premier League predictions.

Fantasy Football Fixtures to Target
Target
Tottenham vs Brighton
While fixtures are about to get tougher for Spurs, this clash looks prime for Harry Kane (10.7million) and Son Heung-min (9.4m) to continue their impressive partnership. While there’s an argument that you only need one of the pair given how often they combine for goals and assists, we suggest you get two of the hottest FPL properties ahead of this straightforward clash.
Avoid
Man United vs Arsenal
As the hype builds for the heavyweight game of the weekend, it’s probably one to swerve for FPL managers. The two sides are likely to square off in a cagey game if their recent top-six clashes are anything to go by.

Fantasy Football Transfer Tips this Week
Keep Faith in Toffees
Everton were routinely handled in their loss to Southampton last weekend. That was a worry, especially for Dominic Calvert-Lewin (7.3m) owners. Lucas Digne is among the most transferred out players after his red card, but we don’t suggest losing faith in the Toffees entirely.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side have Newcastle on Sunday and that’s an opportunity for their players to get some points on the board. The Magpies have lost 3-0 to Brighton and 4-1 to United at home so far and Everton should follow that with a strong display at St James’ Park.
Things Still Falling Villa’s Way
Aston Villa’s perfect run was shaken by Leeds at the weekend, but they aren’t about to fall apart. Between now and Boxing Day they play only one member of the Big Six – Arsenal – and this weekend pits them against Southampton.
Villa have well-priced options across the pitch. Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez (4.8m) looks like the perfect stopper for the season. Meanwhile, John McGinn (5.5m) has racked up 29 points and both have made it into our side this week.
Palace Value
Crystal Palace aren’t the go-to team for FPL assets, but the fixture list could change that. After Friday’s visit to Wolves the Eagles meet Leeds, Burnley, Newcastle and West Brom.
While Wilfried Zaha is a player to keep an eye on, Nathaniel Clyne (4.5) looks like a perfect option as a budget defender. The former Liverpool man has taken Joel Ward’s right-back slot ahead of this favourable run. He picked up six points last weekend and is owned by just 0.1% of FPL managers.
On the Leeds Bandwagon
We were a little hesitant about Leeds’ upcoming tough fixtures, until we remembered that it’s Leeds. Marcelo Bielsa’s men will attack whoever they face, making them great cut-price options for GW7.
Patrick Bamford (5.9m) is the obvious candidate, while Mateusz Klich (5.6m) and Stuart Dallas (4.5m) are great value options who can help you squeeze in 20million-worth of Spurs talent.
Who to Captain in GW7
Son Heung-Min
It’s a toss up between the two Spurs attackers but we’re backing Son as captain over Harry Kane. The South Korean has outscored his teammate in three of the last five gameweeks, getting into double figures in four of them.
Brighton look to be a good foil for more success for Son. As a midfielder he not only gets an extra point for every goal he’s scored but Son can also pick up a point for a clean sheet against a Brighton side who look a little toothless so far.
