FST’s 16/1 #OddsOnThat special for PSG’s Champions League clash with Manchester United

20/10/2020 admin
Neymar PSG

Last season’s beaten finalists Paris St. Germain host three-times winners Manchester United in the French capital on Tuesday night, in what promises to be an enthralling Champions League skirmish at the Parc de Princes.

A little over 18 months ago, a depleted United team still enjoying a new manager bounce under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, dumped the Parisians out of the competition at the Last 16 stage after an epic comeback that few saw coming.

Ahead of the clubs’ latest encounter, there are suggestions that the Norwegian’s grip on the wheel may be loosening, and United will again arrive in France as the outside bet. Can the underdogs break more hearts in the city of love or will PSG exact some revenge?

To whet your appetite for what should prove a gripping contest, our experts at FST have put together a tasty looking 16/1 Betfair #OddsOnThat for the game. You can also find the rest of our betting tips and analysis on our PSG vs Manchester United predictions.

FST’s PSG vs Manchester United #OOT

Paris St. Germain to win

While Manchester United’s 4-1 win at Newcastle on Saturday evening was a timely confidence booster, the Red Devils have looked shaky enough in general this season to suggest that they lack the quality to compete with a much stronger PSG team this week.

With key centre-half and club captain Harry Maguire out injured and defensive deputy Eric Bailly also sidelined, United have a selection crisis to contend with at the back, and PSG, who won each of their last five matches, should prove too strong.

4+ Goals

A major characteristic of United’s games so far this term has been the high volume of goals scored. With a combination of poor defending and clinical finishing proving potent, an average of 4.5 goals hit the net across United’s first six competitive matches of the fresh campaign.

PSG have a frontline sprinkled heavily with world-class star dust, and if Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Angel Di Maria are on form, then United’s patched together rearguard could be torn asunder in Paris.

Kylian Mbappe to score anytime

French phenomenon Kylian Mbappe warmed up for Tuesday’s high-prolife showdown with goals in successive games for club and country over the past week, when the 21-year followed up his strike for Les Blues against Croatia with a brace against Nimes on Friday.

Mbappe, who tends to excel on the biggest stage, notched five Champions League goals during PSG’s run to the tournament’s final last term, one of which was plundered against Man Utd in the first leg of the clubs’ last 16 tussle at Old Trafford.

Blessed with searing pace, Mbappe’s movement promises to test United’s slow centre again when the teams renew acquaintances on Tuesday, and the ex-Monaco starlet is worth backing to get his name in lights.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka to be carded

Fresh from his first ever Premier League goal, Aaron Wan-Bissaka should be in confident mood ahead of United’s trip to Paris, though the inexperienced fullback could have his self-belief stripped away by the Parisians’ high-calibre attacking trident.

Wan-Bissaka, who was cautioned eight times in his debut Premier League campaign for United last season, is fond of a robust tackle or two, though his overzealous challenges could land him in trouble at the Parc de Princes.

Neymar, one of football’s prime purveyors of the game’s dark arts, is likely to be deployed in direct opposition to Wan-Bissaka, and the Brazilian’s quick-feet are certain to draw fouls.
