ENGLAND failed to impress in the Women’s World Cup opener against minnows Haiti and will need to up their game against Denmark in Group D this morning.
The European champions were expected to start the tournament with a flourish but could only manage to score once – and even that came from a retaken penalty.
The Danes also toiled in their first outing and needed a last-gasp goal from Amalie Vangsgaard to secure a 1-0 victory over China.
After those results, today’s encounter should decide who tops the section and gets a potentially easier path to glory in the knockout stage.
So it could be a tense 90 minutes and that makes the half-time draw a decent option at a best 15/13 with VBet.
We’ve seen plenty of corners in World Cup games so far and the two openers in Group D both hit double figures.
That makes over 9.5 corners another good option for this game and it pays 19/20 with Betway.
Haiti and China have yet to get off the mark but their game today should be open as both sides need a win to stand a chance of reaching the knockout stages.
The goals are finally starting to flow in this tournament so I’m going for BTTS in this one at 5/4 with Unibet.
Elsewhere, the Belgian top flight gets underway with what should be a cracking game between Union St Gilloise and Anderlecht.
Union proved they were no flash in the pan last term by mounting another title challenge and were just pipped at the post again in the play-offs.
But fallen giants Anderlecht had another disappointing campaign and could only finish in midtable.
This is a tricky one to call as Union have lost a few star players, including striker Victor Boniface, while Anderlecht have splashed out on Kasper Dolberg and Luis Vasquez.
I can see a few goals in this one and combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays 11/10 at Bet365.
Super Singles
- Over 9.5 corners in England vs Denmark (19/20, Betway)
- BTTS and over 2.5 goals in Union vs Anderlecht (11/10, Bet365)
