The focus is on the bottom end of the Premier League tonight as two of the bottom three meet live on TNT Sports.
All three promoted teams have found the going tough this season and it’s looking likely that they’ll make an immediate return to the Championship. The bookies don’t often get it wrong and have Sheffield United at 1/25 to be relegated with Burnley (2/9) and Luton Town (2/7) not far behind them.
Only Everton’s 10 point deduction is stopping them from being cut adrift for the rest of the league but with half the season remaining there is still some hope, especially for the Luton and Burnley who meet in Lancashire tonight.
Recent wins over Sheffield United and Newcastle have earned the Hatters six much-needed points but they’ve also fared well in narrows defeats to Manchester City (1-2), Arsenal (3-4) and Chelsea (2-3) which bodes well for the remainder of the season.
That ability to get amongst the goals could make them worth getting onside with tonight at Turf Moor where Burnley have underperformed, their only win being a 5-0 hammering of Sheffield United. Other than that it’s been nine defeats in 10 with an average of 2.4 goals conceded per match.
The Clarets took home the three points when the sides met at Kenilworth Road in October so Luton will be looking to avenge that one and they’re 14/5 to win. Vincent Kompany’s men are 19/20 – a relatively short price considering their home record.
On the Double Chance market Luton are 4/5 and if you combine that the Hatters to score it makes for a 21/20 BetBuilder.
There should be goals in Inverness where Duncan Ferguson comes up against his former team, Dundee United.
The Terrors were handed a wake-up call by Morton last weekend in a 3-2 defeat with saw them miss the opportunity to go top of the table when Raith were also beaten.
They’ve another chance tonight but Caley will be buoyed by their 3-1 win at Ayr last Saturday, their first in six. United have been better on the road this term and should put last week’s result behind them to land the three points at 1/2 but Thistle can get on the scoresheet so the 9/10 on Over 2.5 Goals looks backable.
