At the start of March Aberdeen were fifth in the table, 7 points behind Hearts having played a game more. Fast forward just over a month and Barry Robson has guided the Dons in to third in the table and in pole position to secure European football next season.
It’s five wins on the bounce for the Dons and six in eight under Robson, a run of form that looked impossible for most of the season. They could go five points clear of Hearts with a win at Ross County tonight which would really pile the pressure on the Jambos ahead of Saturday’s Edinburgh Derby.
Ross County scored a timely win at St Johnstone last weekend but Malky Mackay has hinted that his squad is depleted ahead of tonight’s match with Eamonn Brophy ruled out alongside Callachan and Paton so it looks all set-up for another win for the Dons.
Duk and Miovski have been the shining lights for Aberdeen this season with 34 goals between them. Duk has scored five in Aberdeen’s last four matches and on that kind of form can help the Dons to two or more goals tonight at 11/10.
It’s looks like the Championship in Scotland is Dundee’s to lose. That’s been largely down to the collapse of Queen’s Park in recent weeks. Three consecutive defeats without scoring a goal makes them look uneasy 8/15 favourites tonight to beat a Hamilton side fighting for the future in the Championship.
Accies’s form has been a bit all over the place of late. After lifting the Challenge Cup they were hammered 7-0 by Dundee, only to return to winning ways against Raith Rovers. That was followed by a disappointing draw at home to fellow strugglers, Cove Rangers before a further loss to Morton in midweek.
Wins at Inverness and Partick Thistle prove that go away and pick up points at tough venues and they could take advantage of some low morale in the Spiders’ camp tonight. They’re 7/2 to win but we can get odds against (5/4) by backing them on the Double Chance market which makes plenty of appeal.
