Scotland to Score 2+
Scotland will secure 2nd place in Group F and a playoff spot if they manage to secure all three points against Moldova in Chisinău.
Steve Clarke’s side will come into this match full of confidence as they won each of their last four group matches, including their last two on the road.
The Moldovan’s, however, currently sit bottom of the group with just a solitary point to their name, losing each of their last seven group matches by an aggregate score of 23-3.
Scotland face group winners Denmark in their final group fixture so I see them going all out for the win against a side ranked 175th in the FIFA Rankings.
Poland to Score 3+
Poland travel to Andorra knowing a win will almost certainly see them finish in 2nd spot in Group I and secure a playoff spot.
Poland come into this fixture in fine form, winning four of their last five group matches, scoring 18 goals in the process.
Andorra’s six points have came against perennial whipping boys San Marino, with the hosts losing all six matches against sides above them in the group, conceding on 19 occasions.
Poland defeated Andorra 3-0 in the reverse fixture in Warsaw and I see the Poles notching at least three times against a poor Andorra side.
Austria vs Israel – Both Teams to Score
Israel travel to Vienna knowing they must win their last two matches and hope that Scotland slip up in both their final group matches if they are to secure a playoff spot.
Israel have no problem in finding the back of the net so far in qualifying, scoring 18 goals, with only Denmark twice shutting them out. However they’ve conceded 15 goals, keeping just a solitary clean sheet against the Faroe Islands.
Austria can’t finish in the top 2 but know they may still have a route to the playoffs via the Nations League. Austria have also been poor defensively, conceding in all five games against sides above them in Group F.
Israel won the reverse fixture 5-2 in Haifa highlighting both sides strengths and weaknesses. I’m expecting an open match once more and that should lead us to both sides scoring.
England vs Albania – Over 2.5 Goals
England know a victory over Albania at Wembley will more or less seal top spot and qualification to the World Cup in Qatar.
Albania on the other hand know they’ll need a win to keep their hopes of a playoff spot alive with 2nd placed Poland expected to defeat minnows Andorra on Friday night.
England have scored 24 goals already in qualifying but have conceded at home to both Hungary and Poland. Albania have scored in all four of their away games but did concede four in Warsaw against Poland.
With England wanting a response from their draw with Hungary last time out and Albania needing a win, I expect to see this game open up at some point and that will hopefully lead us to seeing at least three goals.
