IT’S Firhill for Thrills on Friday night as the Scottish Cup takes centre stage. Two former winners of the famous old trophy meet in what should be a cracking match in the west end of Glasgow.
Partick Thistle are the form team in the Championship and are unbeaten in eight in the league (W6 D2). Visitors Dunfermline are resurgent under new boss John Hughes, winning their first two league games of the season following his appointment, and scoring five goals in the process.
Thistle are top scorers in the league while under Hughes the Pars won’t be shy in going forward so it should be an open game under the lights in Maryhill and goals looks the safest ploy. Over 2.5 pays 4/5.
In England, West Brom’s inconsistency has seen them slip nine points behind leaders Fulham and they’ve now won just one of their last five (W1 D2 L2).
That stat is also true for Forest (W1 D4) but it’s a much more positive picture for the Tricky Trees who’s only defeat in their last 12 league matches has come against table-topping Fulham, following the appointment of former Swansea City manager Steve Cooper in September.
They’ll travel to the Hawthorns full of confidence but the Baggies’ home form is among the best in the Championship and they’re the only side with an unbeaten home record (W6 D3).
It’s difficult to back against Forest given their run of form but West Brom have saved their best performances for in front of their own fans so backing Nottingham Forest or the Draw on the Double Chance market appeals at 6/5.
