After a mini-break in the Premier League most clubs are back in action this weekend as the FA Cup reaches the fourth round and first on our screens are Manchester United at home to Middlesbrough tonight on ITV.
United last lifted the trophy in 2016, which is their only success in the competition in the last 17 years, and looks like being their best route to silverware this season.
Visitors Boro might be 8/1 shots to win inside the 90 minutes but they’ll travel to Old Trafford in good spirits and good form which has seen them emerge as promotion contenders in the Championship.
A lot will depend on how Ralf Rangnick approaches the match. He sent out a strong starting XI for United’s victory over Aston Villa in the previoud round and after a few weeks of rest he’ll be able to do so again.
United are usually slow out the blocks and the time of the first goal is set at 27:00 minutes with Bet 365. The Red Devils have scored before the 27th minutes in just 6 of 31 games this season so the 5/6 on offer for no goal before 27 minutes could be the best bet.
In Scotland, Arbroath v Kilmarnock is the unlikely highlight of the lower league matches this weekend. Arbroath have had a phenomenal season that sees them sit top of the table after 22 games but they face their biggest test of the season tonight when rejuvenated Kilmarnock visit Gayfield Park.
Derek McInnes has been backed in the transfer market by the Killie board and they’ll expect nothing less than promotion back to the Premiership, preferably as champions.
Killie’s best work has been done away from home this season and the good news for them is that infamous seaside weather at Abroath looks set to be pretty benign tonight. That could help Kilmarnock and their superior squad rise to the ocassion and overtake the Smokies at the top of the table.
On paper Kilmarnock have the best squad in the division but they need to prove their superiority on the pitch and although this will be tight, they can nick it at 29/20.
