You have to go back to 1968 for the last time Nottingham Forest and Fulham played each other in the top flight of English football.
The last time they met at the City Ground however, was less than 12 months ago and it was Fulham who left with the three points thanks to a resounding 4-0 win. Aleksander Mitrovic scored two on that occasion and he’ll be the main danger once again for Forest.
Only Erling Haaland has scored more than the Serbian in the Premier League this season and the striker is 6/4 to score on his birthday and 4/1 to open the scoring.
Forest will be desperate to notch a win though after three defeats on the bounce. There’s been a massive turnover in personnel at Forest and they appear to be taking a little time to settle but the City Ground, under the lights, against a fellow promoted team, feels like a match they’ll have earmarked all three points.
The bookies think the Cottagers could shade it, making them favourites at 13/8 which means Forest could be a bit of value at 9/5.
Also in the Premier League tonight, Aston Villa host Southampton on Sky Sports. Games between the two at Villa Park have produced a lot of goals recently, the last four finishing 4-0, 3-4, 1-3 and 2-4. So plenty of goals and a pretty decent record for thr visitors.
A share of the points against Man City last time out revieved some of the pressure on Steven Gerrard but he’ll feel the heat again if they don’t win tonight. They’ve now gone 11 top-flight matches without a clean sheet, while Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have gone 17 top-flight away matches without a clean sheet so goals should be on the agenda. Over 2.5 goals is the bet at 4/5.
