Norwich got their first win of the season on the board with a 2-1 victory over Huddersfield on Tuesday but in truth it was overdue.
They’d dominated possession and had most shots in all oft their opening three matches but only picked up one point. They put that right with the win over the Terriers and can add another three points to their tally tonight against Millwall.
The visitors, who sit fifth in the table, owe their last four points to fantastic combacks and very late goals. They came from two behind to win all three points at home to Coventry, thanks to an 85th minutes winner. They left it even later in midweek at Swansea where not one but two injury time own-goals in the 93rd and 95th minute earned them a point.
So Norwich be warned, the Lions won’t lie down.
In which case it could be safer to side with the Canries in the corners markets. They’ve won the corner count 8-1, 11-2, 9-0, 7-1 in their first four Championship games and are 8/13 (Bet365) to win the Corner Match Bet or 10/11 to win the Corner Handicap that is set at -1.
It’s 10/11 that the Canaries hit Over 5.5 Corners which obviously eliminates anything that Millwall might do.
In Scotland it’s the battle of the Thistles tonight as Partick welcome Inverness to Maryhill. The Championship is already looking like it’s going to be a season of ups and downs for all teams concerned. There’s just four separating top to bottom and it’s destined to be tight all season.
Partick Thistle were beaten in the Glasgow Derby by newly promoted Queen’s Park last week, while Inverness beat Cove 4-1 for their first win of the campaign. Neither of which really helps us separate the sides so a share of spoils could be the best option here at 21/10. It’s a bet that’s land in three of Inverness’ last four and in two of the last five meetings between the sides, the other three finishing with just one goal between them.
