IT’S been a busy old week of European football with UCL and Europa League action dominating the midweek card but it’s back to domestic football tonight as the French and Dutch second tiers take centre stage.
Well, at least for me and many others they do.
It was the late, late show last night as last-minute goals and cards brought in the 10-11 NAP and 3-1 over 2.5 goals treble and tonight puntera will be hoping for a hat-trick of massive wins in France after the last two cards delivered us 50-1+ winners on over 0.5 first-half goals.
To land it 2 weeks in a row on the run-up to the festive period has paid for Christmas for many and it’s a market I back every week, just don’t expect it to land every week. In fact, you shouldn’t expect it to land at all, it’s 50-1+ for a reason. If it lands again this season though I’ll be delighted. See it as an investment.
Ligue 2 is tricky tonight – I was initially looking at table-topping Lorient at home Auxerre, to win and score two at 21-20 but I’m massively put off by Lorient’s dismal record against them. They have won just 2 of the last 20 meetings which is horrendous. Instead, I’ve picked out a goals double.
Rodez vs Caen (7pm)
Newly-promoted can be fairly satisfied with their performances this season and those early points on the board have certainly helped as they have now lost 3 of their last 4 at home but to sides who are all in the top 6 pushing for promotion.
All 8 of their home matches have seen at least 2 goals and they’ll be looking to get back to winning ways having lost their last 5 matches.
Visitors Caen are in good shape and are now unbeaten in 8 games with 6 of their last 7 matches on the road seeing at least 2 goals. Defensively they have been poor with just 2 clean sheets in their last 13 games.
We should see two goals here tonight.
Lorient vs Auxerre (7pm)
The hosts have an opportunity to open up a five-point gap at the top by beating struggling Auxerre. They have been in terrific form winning 6 games on the spin scoring 17 goals in the process. After a poor run that saw them score just 2 goals in 4 home games, they’ve won their last three scoring 9 in the process and will definitely have their tails up coming into this.
Auxerre are having another poor season and are now without a win in 7 matches and they will do well to leave here with anything.
Their last 6 games have all gone over 1.5 goals and given they are the 6th highest scorers in the league, they are more than capable of finding the net at a Lorient side who have conceded in 6 of their home games this season. Auxerre are a massive 11/13 just to score but going to take over 1.5 match goals.
Recommended Bet:
- Over 1.5 match goals double
- 21/20 (Coral) (NAP)
The French 0ver 0.5 first half goals specials is 25/1 and has been cut considerably to what we usually get. Shop around though, you should be able to get match odds. Over 1.5 match goals is 18-1.
Dutch Eerste Divisie Total Goals – 10 matches (7pm)
We landed total goals last Friday with 27 goals scored in the 8 matches and tonight we have a full card with all 20 clubs in action.
Its a decent looking card and with 10 games being played 3 or 4 of them should deliver 5+ goals.
Recommended Bet
- 34+ goals to be scored
- 4/5 (Skybet)
