AFTER a bumper Friday night which saw first half goals land in French Ligue 2 at 57/1 I was delighted to see there’s a full midweek card in the French second tier tonight.
There’s 9 matches and for once all of the big guns are playing, something that doesn’t normally happen on a Friday night as they tend to play Saturday afternoon or Monday night.
Interestingly the sides that occupy the top 5 spots are all playing against sides struggling at the bottom end of the table, and that bodes well for total goals. Lens, Lorient , and Le Havre are the leagues highest scorers and it’s Paul Le Guen’s Le Havre side I’m interested in tonight.
Le Havre vs Le Mans (KO 8pm)
A few weeks ago the writing looked on the wall for Le Havre manager Paul Le Guen – after a blistering start to the season, they went on a horrific 9 game winless run that saw them tumble down the league and their promotion push looked dead and burried.
Back to back wins though has seen them move right back into mix and they now occupy 5th place, 8 points behind leaders Lorient. A 4-0 home against Guingamp was followed up by a 2-1 at Rodez and its was no surprise to see star striker Tino Kadewere play a big part in those two wins.
The young Zimbabwean striker now has 15 goals for the season which for Ligue 2 is an incredible return after 16 games. He’s a player I spoke a lot about at the start of the season and despite Le Havre’s poor run he was still scoring goals.
They welcome a Le Mans side who are finding it life difficult and who have conceded 28 goals so far (worst in the league). They had seen an improvement recently but that was ended on Friday as they lost out 2-1 to fellow strugglers Chateauroux.
With Le Havre’s upturn in fortunes and Le Man’s need for points, this should be an open game and a match were you’d have to fancy Tino Kadewere to find his 16th goal of the season.
Recommended Bet:
- Over 2.5 goals
- 11/10 (Betfair) (NAP)
- Tino Kadewere Anytime Goalscorer
- 1/1 (Skybet)
Ligue 2 Total Goals – 9 matches 8pm
The leagues leading sides (Lens, Lorient , Le Havre and Troyes) are all in action against against sides toiling down at the bottom of end of the league. I like the look of these fixtures
- 22+ goals to be scored 11/8 (Skybet)
- 24+ goals to be scored 11/4 (Skybet)
Don’t forget the over 0.5 first half goals in all matches and over 1.5 goals – Cocker or anyone else, feel free to throw in the best price for these.
