FRIDAY night is about goals for me in France as I venture into Ligue 1 as Monaco host Montpellier and I’ll also be on my favourite Ligue 2.
The total goals market has been terrific for us in recent weeks and its worth taking on again with 7 fixtures taking place tonight in the French second tier and as always, will be having a punt on first half goals and over 1.5 goals.
Monaco vs Montpellier (7.45pm)
7th placed Monaco welcome fellow European qualification rivals Montpellier at the Stade Louis II and its a game the hosts really cant afford to lose.
One thing Monaco fans can’t say is they haven’t been entertained at home – there has been 48 goals scored (highest in the league) but I guess worringly for them, despite being the second highest scorers in the league, they have the worst home defensive record.
10 of their 12 home matches have gone over 2.5 goals with 8 of them seeing at least 4 goals and with just two clean sheets, Montpellier will more than fancy their chances of getting a positive result against such a leaky defence. In attack though, Silmani and Ben Yedder have been prolific with 24 goals scored between them
5 of Montpellier’s last 6 away games have seen 3 or more goals with them conceding 12 goals across those 6 games.
They absolutely hate playing Monaco – they’ve won just one of their last 18 trips to Monaco and have won just two of the last 37 meetings which is some stat.
Goals looks very reasonable priced here given Monaco’s scoring record at home and the importance of this match

Total goals in Ligue 2 has been a terrific market to back in recent weeks with the goal line being set extremely low in my opinion. Looking to take advantage of that again
