ALL the Bs were buzzing on Saturday as Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich all notched fine wins.
I had some decent tips on my preview but my top tips fells short with Wolfsburg missing chances to score against Dortmund.
My Top Treble was even closer with Freiburg letting me down after seeing VAR disallow a late equaliser for a foul in the build-up.
Well done to all the winners on another decent day and there are three more Bundesliga matches on Sunday as well as three from Bundesliga 2 where the top five failed to win last weekend. All three are previewed on the site so check them out.
RB Leipzig’s title bid looks over after a run of three draws. The big spenders resumed with a 1-1 draw at Freiburg following pre-lockdown stalemates against Wolfsburg and Bayer Leverkusen.
Julian Naglesmann’s side have slipped to fourth and now trail Bayern Munich by 10 points after their thrilling 5-2 win against Eintracht Frankfurt.
Leipzig were leading scorers at the halfway stage and will hope to rediscover their form ahead of their visit to Mainz who drew at Cologne from 2-0 down.
Mainz have drawn three out of four and another stalemate has a chance at 4-1 with William Hill. I can also see both scoring at 8-13 with bet365.
Schalke were hammered in the derby at Borussia Dortmund and looked to suffer stage fright in front of no fans.
Their only win in 10 games was against Hertha Berlin in the German Cup after extra time but if they need a lift they only need to look at their h2h with Augsburg.
They are unbeaten in eight and have lost just one of the last 18 meetings. Schalke should get back to winning ways but it won’t be easy and bookies know it.
They have priced the home win at an attractive 21-20 and I can see both scoring at 4-5 with William Hill. Schalke and btts pays 31-10 at BetVictor.
Cologne will be looking to avoid another late collapse when they entertain Fortuna Dusseldorf. They were in fine form before the season was halted and looked good until a late collapse against Mainz last week.
That leaves Markus Gisdol’s men will lying 10th and six points adrift of the final Europa League spot occupied by Wolfsburg. They are hot favourites with William Hill to claim all three points but it won’t be easy against relegation-threatened Fortuna Dusseldorf who have drawn five of their last seven league matches.
The draw pays 29-10 with Ladbrokes while an away win is an 16-5 with the same firm.
Daily Double
- Mainz v RB Leipzig btts (2.30pm)
- Schalke draw no bet (12.30pm)
- (6-4, Betfred)
