THE Stuttgart-Hamburg game lived up to all expectations but the big news was a return date for the Premier League.
A June 17 return is proposed with all 92 matches remaining in the 2019-20 season set to be televised live in a feast of football.
The Government have still to give the green light but the first matches are expected to be the rearranged fixtures between Aston Villa and Sheffield United and Manchester City v Arsenal.
That will mean all 20 clubs will have played 29 matches heading into the weekend of June 19-21, when the first full round of games are set to be played.
Serie A is planning a June 20 return with La Liga hoping to restart on June 11 with the Seville derby.
Bundesliga action continues of course but within weeks football fans and punters will have an abundance of riches – albeit behind closed doors.
That didn’t stop the Stuttgart game being a thriller and as I predicted there were plenty of goals in a 3-2 home win.
Freiburg vs Bayer Leverkusen is the big game on Friday and there are two matches in Bundesliga 2. Check out kevinmac’s preview of Freiburg vs Bayer as the visitors try to bounce back from their shock 4-1 home defeat to Wolfsburg in midweek.
Actually there are plenty of games on the go as more leagues return with action in Denmark, Austria, Czech Rep, Poland and Serbia and of course Belarus.
The weekend Gambla podcast featuring tips from Belarus and the Bundesliga is now up. Check it out here.
My focus for now is on Saturday’s card but if I get a chance I’ll try to post a double or treble once those write-ups are completed.
Well done to all the winners on Thursday and good luck with your Friday bets.
