Chancellor Angela Merkel has given the nod for games to be played behind closed doors and the decision should be rubber-stamped by football chiefs on Thursday.
With nine games remaining Bayern Munich are top of the table, four points above Borussia Dortmund, so it could be an exciting race to the finish.
Just under 7000 people have died in Germany from coronavirus, a much lower figure than in the likes of UK, Italy, France and Spain. All players have been tested and will continue to be with 10 out of around 1700 proving positive.
The Turkish Super Lig will resume on June 12 with the aim being to complete the season by the end of July.
And the Croatian top flight also plans a comeback with cup ties to take place on May 30 followed by league action on June 6.
La Liga clubs also hope to play next month but there remains a doubt about when or how the Premier League clubs will be back in action.
So for punters and football fans there is light at the end of the tunnel – but for Thursday it’s just the Belarus Reserve League to look at.
