After making it eight successive winners late on at Boreham Wood on Sunday, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Turkish Süper Lig, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs separated by one point and one place in the Turkish Süper Lig meet at the New Hatay Stadium as 15th-placed Hatayspor play host to 14th-placed Gaziantep in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Volkan Demirel’s hosts have scored 25 goals across their opening 18 Turkish Süper Lig fixtures this term, with 16 (64%) of them coming on home soil. The Star of the South have found the back of the net in each of their previous seven league outings at home – scoring two or more in five (71%) of them and three or more in four (57%) of them – and will be confident of troubling a Gaziantep backline that has recorded just two clean sheets on their travels this campaign, shipping multiple goals in 6/9 (67%) of them.
Gaziantep have scored 22 goals across their opening 18 matches in the Turkish top-flight this term, with 11 (50%) of them coming on their travels. Marius Șumudică’s visitors have found the back of the net in 5/9 (56%) of their road trips – scoring on multiple occasions in four of their last six – and will look to trouble a Hatayspor defence that is without a clean sheet across their last seven home matches, conceding 14 goals.

After a goalless draw in their opening home match on home soil, Hatayspor’s next seven home matches in the Turkish Süper Lig have averaged 4.28 goals per game, with all seven featuring a minimum of three goals – and given six of Gaziantep’s previous seven have seen Over 2.5 Goals land – I’m happy to have a punt on there being at least three strikes between these two sides on Wednesday afternoon.
