Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus stay in Scotland, and there’s one fixture in the Championship that stands out to me for goals.

Fifth-placed Partick Thistle welcome League leaders Ayr United to Firhill on Saturday afternoon in what should be a highly-entertaining encounter.
lan McCall’s hosts are the joint-second highest scorers in the Scottish Championship this season, netting on 32 occasions. The Jags have found the back of the net in 14/17 of their league outings this season, scoring on multiple occasions in 11 of them. However, only bottom side Hamilton (35) have conceded more goals than Thistle (30) in the Championship this season, whilst their only two clean sheets have come against the lowest-scoring side in the division, Arbroath.
Lee Bullen’s visitors are indeed the Scottish Championship’s top scorers, netting 36 times already this season. The Honest Men have found the back of the net in 15/17 of their league fixtures this season, scoring on multiple occasions in 13 of those. However, Ayr’s only clean sheet on the road came against low-scoring Arbroath, with the current league leaders conceding two or more in five of their other seven away fixtures.
Bet of the Day
Partick Thistle and Ayr United have been scoring goals for fun this season, scoring 68 between them in the Championship. They’ve managed to find the back of the net in 29/34 of their combined league matches this season, and with neither defence particularly watertight, I fully expect the pair to get on the scoresheet in this one.
Collectively, Over 2.5 goals has landed in 25/34 (74%) of their Championship fixtures this season and given either team’s records at both ends of the pitch, I reckon we could see a similar scoreline to the 4-2 between the sides in late October.
