Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the German Bundesliga, and there’s one fixture in particular that stands out to me for goals.

Two clubs looking to return to winning ways in the Bundesliga meet at the WWK Arena on Wednesday evening as Augsburg play host to Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Augsburg’s winless run in the Bundesliga was extended to eight matches on Sunday afternoon, as they were on the wrong end of a seven-goal thriller away at Borussia Dortmund. Enrico Maaßen’s side have kept just clean sheets in the league this season, and only three sides have let in more goals than the 30 they have conceded. However, The Fuggerstädter have found the back of the net in 12/16 of their Bundesliga fixtures this season, failing to score just once in their previous 11.
Gladbach suffered their fourth defeat from their last six Bundesliga matches, as they were beaten 2-3 at home to Bayer Leverkusen. Daniel Farke’s side has now failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their previous nine Bundesliga fixtures, shipping multiple goals in eight of those. However, Die Fohlen have only failed to score in two of their 16 league outings this season, and only three sides have scored more than their tally of 30.
Bet of the Day
Neither of these sides heads into this fixture in good form, with Augsburg winless in their last eight Bundesliga matches, whilst Gladbach are one of three sides in the division yet to win away from home. Given the pair have found the back of the net in 26/32 (81%) of their league fixtures this season and with neither team solid defensively, it’s likely both will get on the scoresheet here.
Over 2.5 goals has landed in a joint-league high 12/15 (75%) of Gladbach’s Bundesliga fixtures this season, and given the same has banked in six of Augsburg’s previous seven league outings, I reckon there’s a good chance we’ll see another three goals in Bavaria on Wednesday evening with both of these clubs contributing.
