Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the World Cup Qualifiers. I’ve picked a selection from Europe and Asia in which I like the look of to give us a nice odds against double.
🇻🇳 Vietnam vs Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
🇪🇺 World Cup Qualifier
⏰ Tuesday 16th November, 12:00
Saudi Arabia travel to Hanoi to take on Vietnam at the My Dinh National Stadium on Tuesday lunchtime. The visitors are currently three points clear of Australia at the top of Group B, whereas the hosts sit rooted to the foot of the table.
Vietnam were defeated once more on Thursday in their previous qualifier as Japan left Hanoi with all three points as they won the game 0-1. Vietnam are still yet to claim a point in Group B, losing all five of their group matches. No side has conceded more goals than Vietnam at this stage of qualifying, with them conceding 11 goals in just five qualifiers. Vietnam have failed to score in both of their home qualifiers against Japan and Australia, with both games finishing 0-1.
Saudi Arabia drew 0-0 in Sydney last time out to maintain their three point lead at the top of Group B over the Aussies. Prior to that draw, the Saudi’s had won their previous four qualifiers, scoring eight goals, with three of those coming in a 3-1 home win over Vietnam. The Green Falcons have conceded just three goals in this stage of qualifying, keeping three clean sheets including in both of their away qualifiers.
🇳🇱 Holland vs Norway 🇳🇴
🇪🇺 World Cup Qualifier
⏰ Tuesday 16th November, 19:45
Holland host Norway at De Kuip in Rotterdam in a crucial qualifier for both sides. The Dutch come into the final matchday top of Group G and two points above both Turkey and Norway. The visitors are behind Turkey in 3rd on goal difference and must better Turkey’s result to secure at least a playoff spot.
Holland blew away a two goal lead late on last time out in Podgorica as they drew 2-2 with Montenegro which means they still have a bit of work to do to qualify for Qatar. The Dutch have only won two of their five qualifiers away from home with both victories coming against the bottom two sides Gibraltar and Latvia but they’ve shown they do their best work at home. Holland have a 100% record at home, winning all four of their qualifiers, scoring 18 goals and conceding just once.
Norway suffered a damaging draw on Saturday afternoon as they couldn’t break down lowly Latvia at home and drew 0-0. That result and Turkey’s 6-0 win over Gibraltar later that day saw the Norwegian’s slip down below the Turks on goal difference in third position. Norway have taken 18 points from their nine previous qualifiers but have only won one of their last three qualifiers. Norway have also failed to win any of their three qualifiers against both sides above them in the group.
Bet of the Day
Two sides who’ve had contrasting fortunes in qualifying so far meet in Hanoi as top of the table Saudi Arabia look to claim another victory away to bottom placed Vietnam. The Saudi’s have taken 13 points from their first five qualifiers and I’m backing them to collect another three points against a Vietnam side yet to collect a single point in Group B and who concede too many goals. Holland threw away a two goal lead against Montenegro on Saturday but I’m expecting them to bounce back against Norway. The Dutch have won all four qualifiers at home, scoring 18 goals and conceding just once and face a Norway side who could only draw 0-0 at home to lowly Latvia and who are without start striker Erling Braut Haaland. I’m expecting the men in orange to qualify automatically for next years World Cup in style and ending Norway’s hopes of qualification in the process.
- Saudi Arabia to win
- Holland to win
- Double Pays 23/20 (Betway)
