The Football Bet of the Day returns on Saturday, and there’s one fixture in the Scottish lower leagues that stands out to me for goals.

This season’s entertainers of Scottish football Stenhousemuir welcome newly-promoted Bonnyrigg Rose to Ochilview Park on Saturday afternoon, and once again, I’m expecting goals with the hosts involved.
Stenhousemuir’s winless run was extended to five matches, as they lost 3-2 at Stranraer last time out meaning they are currently in fifth place, outside the playoff places on goal difference. Stephen Swift’s side have the leakiest defence in the division and have not kept a clean sheet since the opening day of the season. However, Stenny have found the back of the net in all bar one of their 14 league matches this season and come into this fixture having scored multiple goals in nine of their previous 10.
Bonnyrigg Rose put a halt to their three-match losing streak as they scored a stoppage-time equaliser to draw 1-1 away at Forfar Athletic last weekend to keep them from slipping to the foot of the table. Robbie Horn’s side have now found the back of the net in 11/14 of their league outings this season, including in each of their previous seven. However, The Rose have registered just a solitary clean sheet from their last nine league matches, conceding 19 goals on that run.

It’s fair to say Stenhousemuir are the goal-kings of Scottish football this season and I’m more than happy to back goals once again with them involved, as they welcome a Bonnyrigg Rose side that has also been involved in a few high-scoring fixtures in recent weeks.
Over 2.5 Goals has landed in each of Stenhousemuir’s last 13, with the same landing in five of The Rose’s previous seven, and given either side’s records at both ends of the pitch, I am expecting to see at least three goals here with both teams contributing.
