Following Saturday’s late winner at York, Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me stay in the English National League once again, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs separated by just three places in the National League table meet at Spotland tomorrow evening as 6th-placed Altrincham travel to 9th-placed Rochdale in a fixture I expect to produce goals.
Jimmy McNulty’s hosts have scored 35 goals across their opening 20 matches in the National League this term, with 18 (51%) of them coming on home soil. Dale have found the back of the net in 17 of their previous 19 league outings – scoring on multiple occasions in 13 (67%) of them, including in nine of their previous 12 – and will look to continue their fine goal-scoring record against an Altrincham defence that’s registered just four clean sheets in the league this season, with three of them coming against bottom-half sides.
Phil Parkinson’s visitors have scored 34 goals across their opening 19 National League fixtures this campaign, with 16 (47%) of them coming on their travels. The Robins have found the back of the net in 17 (89%) of their league outings – scoring two or more in 11 (58%) of them – and they will be confident of breaching a Rochdale defence that’s kept just two clean sheets in the league this season and none in their previous 16.

Rochdale’s opening 10 National League fixtures on home soil are averaging 3.50 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals banking in seven (70%) of them, including in each of their previous six – and given the same has landed in 6/10 (60%) of Altrincham’s away days in the National League this term – I’m happy to have a punt on two of the division’s highest-scoring sides to produce at least three goals in Greater Manchester tomorrow evening, with both of them contributing.
