Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into the Football League in England and there’s a side in League Two who really appeals to me to score at least twice.
Harrogate Town vs Mansfield Town
🏴 League Two
⏰ Tuesday 1st February, 19:45
Mansfield will look to extend their winning run, as they travel to Yorkshire to take on Harrogate Town at Wetherby Road. The visitors come into this in 6th, inside the playoffs, whilst the hosts are 14th, 11 points behind their opponents.
Harrogate failed to build on their 3-0 win at home to 23rd-placed Oldham, as they were comfortably defeated 3-0 away at Stevenage on Saturday afternoon. That loss last time out was Harrogate’s fifth defeat in their last six in League Two, a run that’s saw them concede 14 goals. Prior to that win against lowly Oldham, Simon Weaver’s men had lost each of their last four at home, conceding nine goals. Only bottom side Scunthorpe United have kept fewer clean sheets in League Two than Harrogate, with the Sulphurites managed just four all season, with all four of them coming against sides below them in the table.
Mansfield kept up their great run of form at the weekend, as they comfortably defeated Leyton Orient 2-0 at home. That win set a new club-record of eight successive league wins for Mansfield, with the Stags also winning 11 of their last 12. Nigel Clough’s side have scored 25 goals in those last 12 matches, scoring at least twice in 10 of them. After failing to win any of their opening six league matches away from home, Mansfield come into this winning three of their last four on their travels, scoring two or more in those three wins.
Bet of the Day
Mansfield set a new club-record of eight successive wins on Saturday following their 2-0 win over Leyton Orient on Saturday and will come into this full of confidence. Nigel Clough’s men have also won 11 of their last 12 in league Two and travel to a Harrogate side that’s lost five of their last six, as well as four of their last five at home. Simon Weaver’s hosts have managed just four clean sheets all season and have conceded 14 goals in their last six in the league and I reckon they’ll struggle defensively once more here. Mansfield have been free-scoring in recent months, scoring two or more in 10 of their last 12 in league Two and the Stags look a good bet to make the net ripple at least twice in Yorkshire on Tuesday evening.
- Mansfield to Score 2+
- Pays 11/8 (SBK)
