Ukraine finished second to world champions France in World Cup qualification and just one point ahead of Finland. Oleksandr Petrakov’s side managed to go through qualifying unbeaten, winning two and drawing six of their group matches. Despite staying unbeaten, Ukraine conceded in seven of their eight qualifiers, including in both matches against Kazakhstan. Ukraine lost the corner count in three of their four qualifiers away from home, conceding 12 when away to France.
