Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me head to the Norwegian Eliteserien and there’s one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Two sides fighting for European qualification in the Eliteserien meet at the Lerkendal Stadion late Sunday afternoon, as fourth-placed Rosenborg play host to second-placed Lillestrøm.
Despite taking the lead, Rosenborg lost their second consecutive away fixture last time out, as they were defeated 2-1 by Haugesund – a result that brought up last Sundays Football Bet of the Day. Kietil Rekdal’s side are a different animal at home, with them posting a W8-D2-L0 record (best in the division) and they come into this encounter having won each of their last six. The Troillongan have found the back of the net 23 times in their last eight matches in front of their own supporters, scoring at least twice in all eight and three or more times in six of them. The Trondheim-based club have conceded in each of their last seven Eliteserien fixtures, as well as in six of their last seven at home.
Lillestrøm claimed just their second victory in their last six last time out, as they defeated Strømsgodset 2-1 at home. After having lost just one of their opening nine away matches, Geir Bakke’s side come into this having lost each of their last two on the road, including a surprise 1-0 defeat against bottom-side Jerv. Lillestrøm have found the back of the net in 19/22 of their Eliteserien fixtures this season, scoring 39 times. The Canaries have registered seven clean sheets so far this season, but only one of those have came when playing on their travels.
Bet of the Day
Both Lillestrøm and Rosenborg are separated by two places and four points in the Eliteserien table and this could prove to be a pivotal game in their quest for European qualification. The two sides rarely fail to score but given they don’t tend too many clean sheets, I’m predicting an open encounter in Trondheim full of goals.
Kietil Rekdal’s hosts have scored 23 goals in their last eight fixtures at Lerkendal, scoring on multiple occasions in each of them and they’ll be confident of adding to that tally against a Lillestrøm defence that’s recorded just one clean sheet away from home this season. Geir Bakke’s visitors have netted in all bar three of their 22 league fixtures this season and they too will be confident of breaching a Rosenborg defence that’s failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their last seven Eliteserien fixtures.
