Two of the biggest names in Italian football go head-to-head at the Stadio Olimpico on Friday evening, as Lazio play host to Inter in what promises to be an exciting affair.
Lazio maintained their unbeaten start to the season last time out but they would’ve been left frustrated, as they were held to a goalless draw in Turin against Torino. Prior to that, Maurizio Sarri’s side began their campaign with a 2-1 victory at home to Bologna, despite being shown an early red card. Since the start of last season, Lazio have found the back of the net in 18/20 of their Serie A fixtures at the Olimpico, scoring on multiple occasions in 13 of those. However, The Biancocelesti have only managed six clean sheets in those matches, with four of those coming against sides that finished in the bottom-half of the Serie A table last season.
Inter have made a perfect start in their attempt of wrestling back the Scudetto from city-rivals Milan, as they followed up their stoppage-time win away at newly-promoted Lecce, by comfortably dispatching Spezia 3-0 at San Siro. Since the start of last season, Inter have found the back of the net in 18/20 of their Serie A fixtures on their travels, scoring on multiple occasions in 12 of those. However, The Nerazzurri conceded in 13 of those matches, with four of their seven clean sheets coming against sides that finished in the bottom-half of the Serie A table last season.

Lazio play host to Inter in the evening kick-off in Serie A on Friday in what promises to be an entertaining encounter between two of the top teams in the Italian top-flight. The visitors have won both of their opening two league matches this season but face a tough test against a Lazio side that’s lost just three of their last 20 at home and who are unbeaten in each of the last three meetings between the two sides at the Olimpico.
Maurizio Sarri’s hosts have found the beck of the net in 18/20 at home in Serie A, scoring 44 times and they’ll look to trouble an Inter defence that’s conceded in each of their last five on their travels in the league. The Nerazzurri have found the back of the net in 18 of their last 20 on their travels in Serie A, scoring 38 times and Simone Inzaghi will expect his side to add to that tally against a Lazio defence that don’t tend to keep too many clean sheets. Given these two sides were the highest-scoring teams in Serie A last season, I reckon we will see at least three strikes here with both sides contributing.
