Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on both the Norwegian second tier and the Belgian league. I’ve picked a selection from each league which I like the look of to give us a nice odds against double.
Fredrikstad vs Aalesund

The sides fighting for promotion to the Eliteserien meet at the Fredrikstad Stadion as Fredrikstad host Aalesund. The visitors currently occupy 2nd spot and sit on 54 points, whereas the hosts are in 4th and six points behind their opponents.
Fredrikstad have picked the wrong time of the season to suffer back to back defeats, with only three rounds of the season to go. Despite sitting in 4th, Fredrikstad have defensively all season, keeping just four clean sheets and conceding 38 goals. However, only the top two have scored more than Fredrikstad, with them scoring 55 goals in 27 games. 20/27 of their matches have went over 2.5 goals, including 10/13 of their home games.
Aalesund are on a remarkable 21 games unbeaten with them 13 of them. Aalesund’s games have went goal crazy in the last two months or so, with 11 of their last 12 games going over 2.5 goals, with 10 of them going over 3.5 goals. Aalesund are the leagues highest scorers, scoring an unbelievable 62 goals in just 27 games. Aalesund have conceded in 11 of their 12 league matches, conceding on multiple occasions in nine of them.
Eupen vs Zulte-Waregem

Two sides who’ve been entertaining to watch in Belgium this season meet at the Kehrwegstadion as Eupen host Zulte-Waregem. The hosts sit in 8th position on 20 points, whereas the visitors sit in 15th position on 13 points.
Eupen followed up three successive wins with three successive defeats, conceding eight goals in the process. Eupen have struggled defensively this season, keeping just one clean sheet in 13 outings, conceding 20 goals. However, they do score goals also, scoring 23 times and only failing to score on three occasions. 10 of Eupen’s 13 games have went over 2.5 goals this season, including four of their last five home games.
After going two games unbeaten, Zulte-Waregem were brought back down to life as they were defeated 2-6 at home to Genk. Conceding goals has been a major problem for Zulte all season, having the leagues leakiest defence conceding 32 goals. Whilst they have only kept one clean sheet, they’ve also only failed to score in one match too. Zulte-Waregem have scored 21 goals so far this season, with them scoring on multiple occasions in four of their last five. 11/13 of Zulte’s matches have seen at least three goals this season, including each of their last seven.
Bet of the Day
Fredrikstad vs Aalesund has the makings of being a goal crazy match. Two of the top three scorers in the league have scored a remarkable 117 goals between them in 54 matches. Both sides are far from watertight at the back and with both sides needing a win in their hunt for promotion to the Eliteserien, I’m expecting an attacking match in which we should see at least three goals. Goals also look on the cards in Belgium in the meeting between Eupen and Zulte-Waregem. Both of these sides are better going forward than they are defensively. Both sides have only kept one clean in their first 13 matches, with Zulte also having the leakiest defence in the division. I’m expecting an open match here and I can see both sides scoring and that should lead us to over 2.5 goals.
