Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on two sides fighting for the title in their respective leagues. I’m backing both sides to have too much firepower for their opponents.
AC Milan vs Salernitana
🇮🇹 Serie A
⏰ Saturday 4th December, 14:00
Two sides at opposite ends of the Serie A table meet at San Siro as Milan host Salernitana. The hosts know they can at least temporarily leapfrog Napoli at the top with a win, whereas Salernitana are bottom, three points points from safety.
Milan suffered their first defeats back to back in Serie A against both Fiorentina and Sassuolo but recovered last out with a 0-3 win at the Marassi midweek over Genoa. Stefano Pioli’s side have generally been strong at home this season, winning five of their seven tussles at San Siro. Milan have a strong record against sides in the bottom half of the table, winning six out of seven. Only city rivals Inter have scored more in Serie A this season, with the Rossoneri scoring on 33 occasions.
Salernitana suffered yet another defeat last time out as they were defeated 0-2 by an under pressure Juventus side. That’s now five games without a win for the Granata, losing four of them. Salernitana have collected just eight points in Serie A this season, with seven of them coming against sides in the bottom half. That means Salernitana have collected just one point out of a possible 21 against top half sides, conceding 16. Salernitana have conceded 31 goals in Serie A with only Spezia conceding more.
Wolves vs Liverpool
🏴 Premier League
⏰ Saturday 4th December, 15:00
Liverpool will look to keep the pressure on both Chelsea and Manchester City as they travel to the Molineux to take on Wolves. Coming into this weekend, Liverpool lie in 3rd, just two points off Chelsea at the top. Wolves are 7th, just three points off West Ham in 4th.
Wolves come into this fixture having drawn both their last two matches 0-0 against two sides in the relegation zone in Norwich and Burnley. Wolves have won six times in the Premier League this season, however five of those wins have came against bottom half sides. Wolves have already lost three times at home in the league this season, including defeats against Manchester United and Tottenham.
Liverpool come into this full of confidence after a resounding 1-4 win in the Merseyside Derby over Everton. That’s now three successive victories for Jurgen Klopp’s men in which they’ve scored four goals. Liverpool are the leagues top scorers with 43, 10 more than Manchester City who’ve scored the second most. Liverpool have managed to score 2+ in 13/14 of their Premier League games this season, including in all seven away from home.
Bet of the Day
Milan know a win over Salernitana will see them go top of Serie A for at least a few hours and face ideal opponents in the form of Salernitana. The Granata have gained just eight points from their opening 15 matches and have the leagues second worst defence. Milan have the second best attack and should score at least twice in what should be a routine victory. Liverpool come into this having scored four in each of their last three matches, including a 1-4 in the Merseyside Derby midweek. They’ve already scored 43 goals in the Premier League, scoring on multiple occasion in 13/14 matches and I’m backing them to have too much firepower and collect all three points against a Wolves side who could only draw with both Norwich and Burnley in their last two games.
- AC Milan to win & Over 1.5 Goals
- Liverpool to win & Over 1.5 Goals
