Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Chinese Super League, and one of the fixtures in particular appeals to me for goals at both ends.
⚽️ Shanghai Port vs Zhejiang FC
🇨🇳 Super League
⏰ Saturday 12th August, 12:35
Runaway league leaders Shanghai Port welcome 7th-placed Zhejiang to the Pudong Football Stadium tomorrow lunchtime in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
Unsurprisingly, Javier Pereira’s hosts are the leading scorers in the Chinese Super League, banging in 47 goals across their opening 21 matches, with 20 (43%) of them coming at home. The Red Eagles have made the net bulge in all bar two of their league outings – scoring on multiple occasions in 15 (71%) of them – and it would be a surprise if they failed to get on the scoresheet against a Zhejiang defence that has registered just three shutouts this season.
Jordi Vinyals’s visitors have scored 32 goals across their opening 21 Chinese Super League matches, with 17 (53%) of them coming on their travels. The Green Giants have found the back of the net in 15 of their previous 16 league contests – striking on multiple occasions in 12 (80%) of them – and they will look to breach a Shanghai Port defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet across their opening 10 Chinese Super League fixtures in front of their supporters.
Bet of the Day
Both Teams to Score has banked in 15/21 (71%) of Zhejiang’s Chinese Super League fixtures this season, including in 9/10 (90%) of their road trips – and given both have obliged in 8/10 (80%) of Shanghai Port’s league contests on home soil – I’m happy to have a punt on both of these high-scoring sides finding the target in this one.
- Both Teams to Score
