Following Wednesday’s winner in South Korea, Thursday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to Iceland once more, and I like the possibility of goals in the capital.

Two clubs separated only on goal difference in the Icelandic second tier meet at the Leiknisvöllur on Thursday evening as 7th-placed Leiknir play host to 6th-placed Þróttur in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Leiknir have scored 23 goals across their opening 12 matches in the Icelandic second tier this term, with 14 (62%) of those coming at home. Vigfús Jósepsson’s hosts have found the back of the net in 10/12 (83%) of their league contests, striking at least twice in all six in front of their supporters – and should be more than capable of breaching a Þróttur defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet and conceded 25 goals across their opening 12 league assignments.
Þróttur have scored 22 goals across their opening 12 matches in the Icelandic second tier this campaign, with 10 (45%) of those coming on their travels. Ian Jeff’s’ visitors have only failed to score away at runaway league leaders Afturelding this season, scoring two or more in seven (57%) of them – and will look to breach a Leiknir defence that has registered a solitary clean sheet in the league this term, shipping multiple goals in 8/12 (67%) of them, including in 5/6 (83%) at home.

Over 3.5 Goals has banked in a league-high 9/12 (75%) of Leiknir’s 1. deild karla fixtures this season, including in 5/6 (83%) at home – and given the same has landed in 6/12 (50%) of Þróttur’s league outings this term – I’m happy to have a little punt on their to be a minimum of four goals for the second successive meeting between these two clubs in the league this season.
