Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me stay in Scandinavia and there’s one fixture in particular that stands out to me for goals in the goal-laden Icelandic second-tier.

Two of the top-three sides in the Icelandic second-tier go head-to-head in Reyjkavík on Tuesday evening, as second-placed Fjölnir play host to third-placed Fylkir.
Fjölnir secured their third successive win in the league last time out, as they thrashed bottom side Thróttur Vogar 6-0. Úflur Arnar Jökulsson side have won five of their opening seven fixtures at home this season (W5-D1-L1), including each of their last three. Fjölnir have only failed to score in one of their opening 13 league fixtures this season and are the divisions second-highest scorers this season, scoring 32 goals, with 20 of those coming when playing at home. Fjölnir have let in 21 goals so far this season, with both of their clean sheets coming against bottom side Thróttur Vogar.
Fylkir came from 1-0 and 2-1 down to secure their fourth consecutive in the league last time out, as they won 2-3 at KV. After failing to win any of their opening three fixtures away from home, Fylkir come into this match having won each of their last three on their travels. Fylkir are the top-scoring side in the Icelandic second-tier, with Tómas Tómasson’s side scoring a remarkable 37 goals from their opening 13 league fixtures. Fylkir have conceded 15 times so far this season, with eight of those coming in their six away fixtures, only keeping a clean sheet at bottom side Thróttur Vogar.
Bet of the Day
Both Fjölnir and Fylkir come into this match in great form and I’m expecting an entertaining clash when the pair meet in Reykjavík on Tuesday evening. Fjölnir have struck 32 times this season, with 20 of those coming in their seven fixtures at home and I expect them to increase that tally against a Fylkir defence that’s conceded on multiple occasions in three of their last four fixtures away from home. Fylkir are the divisions top-scorers and given 21 of their 37 goals have come in their last six matches, they should increase that tally against a Fjölnir defence that’s conceded 21 times this season and who’s only two clean sheets came against bottom side Thróttur Vogar. The reverse fixture finished in a 5-2 home success to Fylkir and given both sides records at either end of the pitch, I’m expecting another high-scoring fixture between the two and I’m happy to take a chance on four or more goals to be scored in the Icelandic capital on Tuesday evening.
