Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Dutch Second Tier, and there’s one side in particular that appeals to me to make the net bulge at least twice.

Helmond Sport will look to continue their impressive run of form at home in recent months as they welcome away-day strugglers MVV to the SolarUnie Stadion on Friday night.
Helmond ensured they head into this fixture suffering just two defeats across their previous 14 Eerste Divisie fixtures, as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 away at TOP Oss last time out. It was the same story in Helmond’s previous home fixture, coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Telstar, preserving Bob Peeters’s side’s seven-match (W4-D3-L0) unbeaten league run in front of their supporters. The Kattenmeppers have found the back of the net in 13/15 of their Eerste Divisie fixtures at home this term, scoring 22 goals.
MVV claimed their 11th league victory at home in their last league outing, as they defeated sixth-placed Eindhoven 3-2. However, it’s a different story away from home for the Maastricht-based club, with them collecting just 11 points from a possible 45 (W3-D2-L10), with just one of those points coming across their last nine road trips. MVV have recorded just two shutouts on their travels this season, with only Den Bosch (47) conceding more than the 38 they have let in.

MVV may boast the division’s third-best home record, but only two clubs have collected fewer points on their travels than the Maastricht-based club, and they will face a tough challenging ending their nine-match winless run on their travels against a Helmond Sport side unbeaten in each of their last seven at home.
Helmond have struck on multiple occasions in seven (47%) of their 15 matches as hosts this term – including in each of their last three – and I’m backing them to bag another double at home to an MVV defence that has shipped multiple goals in 12/15 (80%) of their away fixtures this season, including in each of their last nine.
