Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Norwegian Eliteserien and there’s one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.
Haugesund vs Rosenborg
🇳🇴 Eliteserien
⏰ Sunday 11th September, 19:00
Rosenborg will look to continue their impressive run of form, as they travel to Rogaland to take on Haugesund at the Haugesund Stadion.
After a pair of 1-0 defeats at home to league leaders Molde and away at Ham-Kam, Haugesund got back to winning ways last time out, as they defeated Tromsø 2-1. That loss against Molde is Jostein Grindhaug’s sides only defeat in their last seven at home (W4-D2-L1), with them winning three of their last four. The Seagulls have found the back of the net in eight of their last nine fixtures in front of their own supporters, scoring on multiple occasions in six of those. Haugesund have conceded 40 goals in their opening 21 league outings this season and only bottom-side Kristiansund (1) have kept fewer than the two they have recorded.
Rosenborg bounced back from their first defeat in 10 matches last time out, as they thumped Viking 4-1 at home. Kjetil Rekdal’s side have had a mixed record on their travels this season, with them having posted a record of W3-D5-L3. The Troillongan have found the back of the net in 18/21 of their Eliteserien fixtures this season and come into this having scored a remarkable 22 goals in their last seven matches. The Trondheim-based club have registered just two clean sheets in their 11 league matches on the road, conceding on 19 occasions.
Bet of the Day
Rosenborg come into this match having won six of their last seven and will look to keep the pressure on third-placed Bodø/Glimt and second-placed Lillestrøm. However, they face a tough test against a Haugesund side that’s one four of their last six in the Eliteserien and who’ve lost just one of their last seven at home. Given the form both of these sides are in and their records at both ends of the pitch, I’m expecting an entertaining encounter full of goals here.
Jostein Grindhaug’s hosts have found the back of the net in eight of their last nine at home, scoring 18 goals and I expect them to trouble a Rosenborg defence that’s recorded just two clean sheets in their travels this season. Kjetil Rekdal’s visitors have scored in 15 of their last 16 Eliteserien fixtures, scoring on multiple occasions in each of their last seven and I’m expecting them to score at least twice against a Haugesund defence that’s registered just two clean sheets all season.
