Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me once more focus on the Champions League and there’s one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Celtic will look to claim their first points in Group F, as they travel to Warsaw to take on Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in one of the two early kick-offs on Wednesday.
The Ukrainian Premier League finally returned last month and Shakhtar have made a decent start, collecting 10 points from their opening four league matches to leave them in second spot, behind Kolos Kovalivka only on goal difference. Igor Jovicević’s began their Champions League campaign with an impressive 1-4 victory away at Bundesliga side RB Leipzig in a scoreline no-one would’ve predicted. That result means they have already collected more points this season than they did in the group-stages last year, where they finished bottom of the group with only two points.
Celtic have made a perfect start to the defence of their Scottish Premiership title, as they have won each of their opening six league matches, scoring a whopping 25 goals, five points clear of bitter-rivals Rangers. However, despite drawing plenty of plaudits for their performance, Ange Postecoglou’s side began their Champions League campaign with a 0-3 loss at home to the holders Real Madrid. Celtic matches were full of goals in Europe last season when playing away from home, with their seven away fixtures seeing a total of 31 goals – with them scoring 14 and conceding 17.

After suffering a defeat at home to Real Madrid in their group opener, Celtic will look to collect their first points in the Champions League but they’ll have a tough test against a Donetsk side who thrashed RB Leipzig away from home on Matchday 1. The Celts have been scoring goals for fun so far this season this season but they do tend to concede plenty when on their travels in Europe, therefore I’m expecting an open and entertaining game with at least three goals, with both of these sides contributing.
