After falling a goal short in Italy last night, Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the match in the Scottish League One, and I’m keen to get the in-form hosts on side.

Hamilton Accies will look to go top of the Scottish League One table on Friday night as they welcome newly promoted Annan Athletic to New Douglas Park.
Hamilton maintained their unbeaten start to their league campaign last time out, as they scored six minutes from time to claim a 1-2 victory away at Queen of the South. John Rankin’s men have now won six of their opening seven League One matches this season (W6-D1-L0), with them sitting in 2nd position behind leaders Falkirk only on goal difference. The Accies have scored 14 goals across their opening seven league outings, but more impressively, they’ve registered four clean sheets and conceded just four goals.
Annan stretched their unbeaten record to four matches in the league last weekend, as they equalised in the final quarter of an hour to rescue a point at home to Alloa. However, three of those matches they remained unbeaten in came against three of the bottom four – the exception being a 3-0 home success over fellow newly promoted side Stirling (4th) – with Peter Murphy’s visitors losing at home to Montrose (3rd) and away at both Falkirk (1st) and Queen of the South (5th).
Bet of the Day
Hamilton have adjusted to life in the third tier very well and know a win here will take them top, at least temporarily. The Accies have won six and drawn one of their seven League One matches, and they will be confident of claiming another three points at home to an Annan side that has taken just a point from their opening three road trips.
To nudge up the price, I’m happy to throw in under 4.5 goals alongside the home win. All six of Hamilton’s victories have not just featured fewer than five goals but also four strikes, whilst The Galabankies’ three defeats have also produced less than five goals.
