Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on goals in Tuesday’s Champions League matches. I’ve picked my two favourite matches for goals to give us a nice odds against double.
RB Leipzig vs Manchester City

Manchester City travel to East Germany to take on RB Leipzig at Red Bull Arena in both sides final group match. Manchester City are already assured of top spot in Group A, whereas RB Leipzig just need to match Club Brugge’s result to qualify for the Europa League.
Jesse Marsch’s reign as manager of RB Leipzig came to an end following their 2-1 defeat to Union Berlin on Friday evening to make it three Bundesliga defeats on the bounce. During that run, Leipzig did claim their first win in Group A at the fifth time of asking, thrashing Club Brugge 0-5 in their own backyard. Leipzig did claim a 2-2 draw in their previous home match in the Champions League and have found the back of the net in all five group matches, scoring 13 goals. That win in Belgium was Leipzig’s first clean sheet in Group A, having previously conceded 13 goals in their first four group games. All five of Leipzig’s group matches have seen over 2.5 goals land, with four seeing over 3.5 goals.
Not only do Manchester City come into this winning each of their last five Premier League matches, but they came from behind to defeat PSG 2-1 in their last group match to seal 1st place in Group A. Manchester City have collected 12 points out of a possible 15 in group A, with their sole defeat coming in Paris. The Citizens have scored 17 goals already in Group A, scoring on multiple occasions in 4/5. Surprisingly though, Pep Guardiola’s side are yet to keep a clean sheet in the group, conceding on eight occasions. 4/5 of City’s matches have saw over 2.5 goals in the group.
Ajax vs Sporting Lisbon

Both Ajax and Sporting Lisbon meet in Amsterdam having already assured their spots in the knockout stages. The Dutch side top, six points clear of their Portuguese opponents.
Ajax remain top of the Eredivisie following their 5-0 thrashing of Willem II last Thursday. The Dutch champions also sit top of Group C, still boasting an impressive 100% record. Ajax have been in superb scoring form once more this season, scoring 48 goals in their 15 Eredivisie matches and 16 goals in their previous five group matches. Ajax have conceded in three of those group victories and have saw over 2.5 goals land in 4/5, including in the reverse fixture in Lisbon.
Sporting Lisbon should travel to Amsterdam full of confidence following their 1-3 victory over city rivals Benicia at the Estádio Da Luz to make it 12 wins on the bounce in all competitions for Ruben Amorim’s side. Following back to back defeats at the start of the campaign, Lisbon have won each of their last three in the group to seal 2nd spot above Borussia Dortmund. Sporting scored 11 goals in those victories but have kept just one clean in Group C, at home to whipping boys Besiktas.
Bet of the Day
Manchester City travel to East Germany in arguably their best form of the season so far and despite having already assured top spot in Group A, they’ll want to finish off the group stage with a win. Both these sides have scored 30 goals between them already in their previous five group games but have kept just the one clean sheet. The reverse fixture produced nine goals and while I’m not expecting the same here, we should see at least three with both sides likely to contribute. Both Ajax and Sporting have already assured their places in the knockout stage and despite this and the fact both sides will likely rotate, I’m still expecting goals. Both sides are in great form at the moment and with both sides already scoring 28 goals between them in Group C, just like the reverse fixture we should see goals with at least three being scored with it being likely both will contribute to the scoring.
