Friday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the game in the Italian Serie A. This has the makings to being an entertaining encounter and I’m happy to back goals here.

Two sides sitting in midtable in Serie A go head to head at the Bentegodi, as Hellas Verona play host to Bologna. The visitors lie in 13th, three places and three points behind their opponents.
Hellas Verona bounced back from their surprise home defeat to Salernitana, by winning 2-4 away to Sassuolo in what was an entertaining encounter. Those four goals now mean that only Lazio, Atalanta and the two Milan clubs have outscored the Gialloblu, with Hellas scoring 41 goals in their opening 22 fixtures. Hellas Verona have struggled to keep goals out at the other end though, with Igor Tudor’s side conceding 37 goals so far, keeping just two clean sheets
Bologna’s poor recent form continued last time out, as they were defeated 0-2 at home to 3rd placed Napoli. That loss now means that Sinisâ Mihajlović side come into this losing five of their last six, conceding on 11 occasions. Bologna do score goals though, failing to score just five times all season, with four of those coming in games against Napoli (twice) Atalanta and Juventus. The Rossoblú have found the back of the net in eight of their last nine matches away from home, including in each of their last five.
Bet of the Day
Both of these sides have been plagued with inconsistency this season and if they want to keep alive their hopes of European qualification, they’ll need to go on a winning run. These sides have found the back of the net in 35 of their 43 matches combined this season, scoring 69 goals, highlighting both sides quality in front of goal. However, both have struggled defensively, with Igor Tudor’s men keeping just two clean sheets all season, conceding in 14 of their last 15, whilst Sinisâ Mihajlović has seen his side concede 11 goals in their last six. Given both of these teams records at both ends of the pitch, it is highly likely both of these sides will find the net and I believe that will lead there to be over 2.5 goals scored in what I’m hoping is another entertaining fixture in Serie A.
