Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Finnish top flight, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals at both ends.

Mariehamn will look to move off the foot of the Veikkausliiga table on Saturday afternoon as they travel to the Tampere Stadium to take on 8th-placed Ilves in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
Toni Kallio’s hosts have scored 14 goals across their opening 14 league fixtures this term, with nine (64%) of them coming on home soil. The Tampere-based club have found the back of the net in 11/14 (79%) of their league outings – including in all seven in front of their supporters – and will look to get on the scoresheet once more against a Mariehamn side that boasts the second-worst defence in the Finnish top flight, conceding 21 goals across their opening 14 league assignments.
Daniel Norrmén’s visitors have scored 13 goals in the Veikkausliiga this campaign, with seven (54%) of those coming across their opening six road trips. The Grönvitt have made the net bulge in 10/14 (71%) of their league contests – including in 9/10 (90%) when excluding meetings with the top three – and will look to get on the scoresheet for the seventh consecutive away match against an Ilves defence that has only registered three clean sheets this season, with only one of those coming at home.

Both Teams to Score has banked in 9/14 (64%) of both teams’ fixtures in the Veikkausliiga this term – including in 6/7 (86%) of Ilves’ on home soil and 6/7 (86%) of Mariehamn’s on the road – therefore, I’m hopeful we’ll see a similar scoreline to the 1-1 draw these two sides played out in the reverse fixture on the opening day of the season.
