Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the high-scoring German second-tier, and there is one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Two of the most entertaining sides in the 2. Bundesliga so far this season meet at the Holstein-Stadion on Sunday lunchtime as 3rd-placed Holstein Kiel entertain 9th-placed Nürnberg in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Marcel Rapp’s hosts have scored 18 goals across their opening 10 2. Bundesliga fixtures this term, with nine (50%) of them coming at home. Die Störche are one of only two sides in the division who have made the net bulge in each of their opening 10 matches – scoring on multiple occasions in seven (70%) of them – and they will be confident of continuing their record of finding the back of the net against a Nürnberg defence that’s registered a solitary clean sheet this term, conceding two or more in six (60%) of them.
Cristian Fiél’s visitors have scored 16 goals across their opening 10 matches in the German second-tier, with seven (44%) of them coming on their travels. Der Club have found the back of the net in each of their previous nine league outings – scoring on multiple occasions in five (56%) of them – and they will be confident of scoring once more against a Kiel backline still without a clean sheet at home this term, conceding 10 goals across their opening five fixtures as hosts.

Bundesliga this campaign are averaging 3.50 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals banking in seven of their previous nine – and given the same has landed in 4/5 (80%) of Holstein Kiel’s league tussles on home soil – I’m happy to have a punt on there to be a minimum of three strikes with both teams contributing in Kiel on Sunday lunchtime.
