Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the fixture in the Scottish Championship and I like the look of goals.

Two clubs who earned promotion from League One together last season meet at Balmoral Stadium this evening as Cove Rangers host Queen’s Park in what promises to be an entertaining affair.
Cove’s winless run was extended to four matches last time out as they were involved in a thrilling 4-4 draw away at fellow strugglers Hamilton Accies despite leading 1-4. Jim Mclntyre’s men remain in eighth position following that draw but are only three points above bottom side Arbroath in the Championship table. The Aberdeen-based club have recorded only two clean sheets this season and possesses the division’s joint-worst defence, letting in 24 goals across their opening 13 league fixtures. Despite their defensive struggles, Cove have found the back of the net in 10/13 of their league outings, scoring on 20 occasions.
Despite taking the lead twice, Queen’s Park were also held to an entertaining draw last time out, drawing 2-2 at home to Dundee. Whilst that’s three unbeaten for Owen Coyle’s men, it’s just one win in their previous five, but they still occupy the final playoff spot and are just three points behind league leaders Ayr United. The Spiders have found the back of the net in 11/13 of their Championship tussles, finding the back of the net 21 times. Queen’s Park have managed only three clean sheets in the league, shipping 21 goals.
Bet of the Day
Cove Rangers will look to put an end to their four-match winless run but face a tough test against a Queen’s Park side that are unbeaten in each of their previous three. Matches involving these two teams this season have tended to be entertaining, and I’m expecting more of the same here.
Collectively, Over 2.5 Goals has landed in 18/26 of the pair’s Championship fixtures this season and given each team’s records at both ends of the pitch, I’m expecting to see at least three strikes in Aberdeenshire this evening with both sides contributing.
