Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the English National League, and there’s one fixture in particular that appeals to me for goals.

Notts County will look to continue their pursuit of league leaders Wrexham as they travel to The Hive Stadium to take on playoff-hopefuls Barnet in a match that should see goals.
Barnet bounced back from their surprise 2-1 defeat away at relegation-threatened Dorking by recording a 2-1 victory themselves at home to lowly Yeovil. That was Dean Brennan’s side’s 11th league victory at home this season (W11-D2-D5), with six of those arriving across their last nine (W6-D1-L2). The Bees are the third-highest scorers in the National League, finding the back of the net 68 times.
Notts County recorded back-to-back 3-1 victories last time out, as they followed up their success over lowly Dorking by defeating playoff-chasing Eastleigh. Luke Williams’s visitors boast the division’s best away record, earning 44 points from a possible 57 (W13-D5-L1). Notts County are the leading scorers in the English fifth-tier this season, scoring 96 goals, with a whopping 53 of those coming on the road.
Bet of the Day
Notts County have failed to score in just one of their 38 National League fixtures this campaign but have struggled for clean sheets, keeping just one across their previous 10 league outings and three on the road all season, and that will give hope to a Barnet side that found the back of the net in 33/36 (92%) of their league contests.
Over 2.5 goals has landed in a league-high 16/19 (84%) of Notts County’s away National League fixtures this season – and given the same has banked in 23/36 (64%) of Barnet’s league assignments – I reckon there’s a good chance we’ll see another three here with both clubs getting on the scoresheet.
