Sunday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the Norwegian Eliteserien and there’s one fixture in particular that I like the look of for goals.
Strømsgodset vs Lillestrøm

Lillestrøm will look to extend their two-point lead at the top of the Eliteserien, as they travel to the Marienlyst Stadion to take on fifth-placed Strømsgodset.
Strømsgodset saw their six-match unbeaten run emphatically come to an end last time out, as they were thrashed 5-1 away to Sarpsborg. Godset come into this winning each of their last three matches at home, including a 3-2 victory over third-placed Viking in their last home fixture. Strømsgodset have found the back of the net on 17 occasions so far this season, with 12 of those coming in their last five matches. Only Haugesund (24) and Vålerenga (21) have conceded more goals in the Eliteserien that Strømsgodset (20), with 11 of those coming in their last four matches.
Despite falling behind in the opening quarter of an hour, Lillestrøm got back to winning ways last time out as they won 3-1 at home to Rosenborg. Geir Bakke’s side conceded in stoppage-time to draw 2-2 against Tromsø in their last away match, meaning they’ve now drawn three of their opening five matches on their travels (W2-D3-L0). Lillestrøm are the only side to score in every one of their league matches and they are also the joint-top scorers in the Eliteserien, finding the back of the net on 24 occasions. Whilst Lillestrøm have kept five clean sheets in their opening six home fixtures, they are yet to record a clean sheet on their travels, conceding 7 goals in their opening five away matches.
Bet of the Day
Lillestrøm will be looking to extend their two-point advantage at the top of the Eliteserien but face a tough test away to Strømsgodset who have won each of their last three in-front of their own supporters. Godset have scored three goals in each of those three successive home victories and they’ll be confident of getting on the scoresheet against a Lillestrøm side that’s yet to keep a clean sheet on their travels. However, Geir Bakke’s side are the leading goal-scorers in the Eliteserien and I expect them to continue their record of being the only side to score in all of their league matches against a Strømsgodset side that’s conceded 11 goals in their last four league matches. Given both sides records in-front of goal, I’m expecting a fairly entertaining encounter, with at least three goals with both sides contributing.
