Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Japanese top flight, and there’s one fixture in particular that stands out to me for goals.

Arguably the most entertaining side to watch in the J1 League this term, Consadole Sapporo welcomes 6th-placed Cerezo Osaka to the Sapporo Dome in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
Consa are the leading scorers in the Japanese top flight this campaign, scoring 38 goals across their opening 17 league outings, with 16 of those coming at home. Mihailo Petrović’s hosts have found the back of the net in 15 of their previous 16 league matches – striking on multiple occasions in 11 (69%) of them – and should possess the firepower to breach a Cerezo Osaka defence that has registered just five clean sheets in the league this season, with four of those coming against the current bottom five.
Akio Kogiku’s visitors have scored 23 goals in the J1 League this campaign, with 10 of those coming on their travels. The Cherry Blossoms have made the net bulge in 14/17 (82%) of their league encounters this term – scoring two or more in nine (53%) of them – and will look to breach a Sapporo side that has registered just one clean sheet across their last 16 league matches and who posses the division’s third-worst defence, conceding 32 goals.

Both Teams to Score has banked in a league-high 14/17 (82%) of Consadole Sapporo’s J1 League fixtures this campaign – and given both have obliged in 10/17 (59%) of Cerezo Osaka’s league contests – I reckon there’s a strong chance we’ll see these two sides find the target in Hokkaido early tomorrow morning.
To increase the price, I’m more than happy to throw an extra match goal. Over 2.5 goals has landed in a league-high 13/17 (78%) of Consadole Sapporo J1 League fixtures this season, whilst there’s been a minimum of three strikes in 10/17 (59%) of Cerezo Osaka’s league outings – including in a 2-3 home defeat against their hosts in the reverse fixture at the start of April.
