Friday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into the Dutch second-tier and there’s two matches I like the look of for goals.
Dordrecht vs Jong Ajax
🇳🇱 Eerste Divisie
⏰ Friday 11th March, 19:00
Two sides at opposite ends of the Eerste Divisie table meet at the Riwal Hoogwerkers Stadion, as Dordrecht host Jong Ajax. The hosts are currently in 19th position, whilst the visitors are 5th, just three points behind Excelsior in 3rd.
Dordrecht’s three-match unbeaten run came to an end last time out, as they were thumped 4-0 away at Roda JC. Prior to that defeat, Jan Zoutman’s side had lost just one of their previous seven matches (W4-D2-L1), earning 14 points, more than half of their overall points tally. Dordrecht have found the back of the net in 22/28 of their league matches this season, including in 16 of their last 18. Dordrecht have kept just two clean sheets all season and no side has conceded more goals than their tally of 63.
Jong Ajax put an end to their three-match losing streak last time out, as they defeated ADO Den Haag 6-3 in what was a nine-goal thriller. However, Jong Ajax have lost each of their last three matches away from home, the same as what they had lost in their opening 11 away matches. John Heitinga’s youngsters have recorded just four clean sheets across their opening 29 league matches, with just one of them coming in their 14 away games. Jong Ajax have found the net in 27/29 of their league fixtures and are the second-highest scorers, finding the back of the net 63 times.
Top Oss vs Roda JC
🇳🇱 Eerste Divisie
⏰ Friday 11th February, 19:00
Promotion-chasing Roda JC travel to Frans Heesen Stadion, as they take on mid-table Top Oss. The hosts currently occupy 12th spot, whilst the visitors lie in the final playoff spot in 8th.
Oss followed their 4-1 win over Jong Utrecht by drawing away to Telstar 2-2 last time out. Oss come into this losing only three of their last 12 matches in the Eerste Divisie (W5-4-L3), with their three defeats coming against sides positioned in 6th and above. Bob Peeters side have found the back of the net in 21/28 of their league matches this season, including in 12/14 of their home matches. Only Dordrecht have kept fewer clean sheets than Oss in the league this season, with TOP recording just four in their opening 28 fixtures, conceding 45 goals.
Roda ended their four-match winless run last time out, as they comfortably dispatched second-bottom Dordrecht 4-0. Jurgen Streppel’s side come into this in decent form, having lost just one of their last 13 matches in the Eerste Divisie (W6-D6-L1). Roda have found the back of the net in 24/28 of their league matches this season, scoring 56 goals. Roda have secured 10 clean sheets so far this season, however only three of those have came in their 14 fixtures away from home, with two of them coming against the current bottom four.
Bet of the Day
Dordrecht may sit in 19th position but come into this having lost just two of their last nine in the league and face a Jong Ajax side that’s lost four of their last seven, including each of their last three away. The pair have scored in 49/57 of their combined matches this season and given they’ve kept just six clean sheets between them, we should see both sides finding the back of the net here. Both Top Oss and Roda JC come into this in decent form, with the hosts losing just three of their last 11 (W5-D4-L4), whilst the visitors have lost just one of their last 13 (W6-D6-L1. Oss have found the back of the net in all-bar two of their home fixtures, whilst the hosts have scored in 24/28 of theirs. The hosts have recorded just four clean sheets this season and given Roda have conceded in 11/14 of their away trips, there’s a good chance both of these sides will get on the scoresheet here.
- Dordrecht vs Jong Ajax – Both Teams to Score
- Top Oss vs Roda JC – Both Teams to Score
